The recent ABC series ‘War on Waste’ (see Nutrimatters May 2017) seems to have made an impact on viewers with many realising that most take-away coffee cups are not recyclable. More environmentally friendly versions have become the latest trend. ‘Keep Cup’ has had a steady interest since its launch in 2009 and has reported a 400% increase in sales since the War On Waste documentary. They can be ordered online and are also available locally at Cocco Rocco, Forestville.

Great for tea and coffee made at home to have on-the-go as well as tea and coffee bought throughout the day or at sporting events or on road trips. There is also potential for them to be used for soups on to go!

Consider which size coffee you are likely to buy at a cafe before you choose which size is right for you. For more information see the KeepCup website.

‘Responsible Cafes’ is an organisation whose goal is to change our current habits on single-use and nurture a culture of re-use.
